I
live on the Oregon Coast where you never know what Mother Nature is going to
throw your direction. Last week we were pummeled with hurricane
force winds gusting over 80 mph and later that same day we were unexpectedly hit
with 7 inches of snow!! The snowstorm toppled
trees
and caused widespread power outages. Most roads were closed, leaving my husband
unable to make it home from work until the next morning. This crazy weather combined with the occasionally Tsunami
warning has made me very aware of just how unprepared I am! My husband and I
are creating emergency supply kits to keep at home and in the car, so if another
freak snowstorm hits we will be ready!
Every family needs an emergency plan, even though hopefully you’ll never need to use it! I’m giving you all free emergency planning kit that includes everything from important contacts and meeting places, wallet cards to a home inventory list.

Hi Rachel! Thanks for hosting each week :)
DeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteHi Bekah! I am originally from Oregon and my family still lives there. My in-laws are planning on retiring to the coast very soon-so I am downloading this AMAZING checklist with them in mind. Wouldn't this make a nice gift--along with helping them fill it out-then present it back to them all filled out prettily (and maybe even on a disk so they can change it when needed)? Oh! I see who is the favorite daughter-in-law now!! (Well...ahem...the only one...but I can still enjoy-eh?) Thank you for your thoroughness. :) (you can visit me at redstarroost@blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteHi KatieBelle! It would make a very thoughtful gift! I think your in-laws will be touched by your concern for their safety :)
DeleteHi! I tried downloading this but when it won't open, it just says "please enter the document permissions password to remove the restrictions" Not sure why. I really do love these though and would love to print them out! I've seen a few different ones, but yours are the first free ones I've seen, so I was so excited to download them. Please let me know what I can do.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Hi Tori, I just went to box and downloaded the kit and I also tried printing straight from box with no problems, not sure what is going on. I have password protection to prevent copying, but that should not interfere with printing. I will email the kit to you and I hope that helps.
DeleteThank you so much! I love that these are fill-in-able.
ReplyDeleteThank you! These are just what I have been looking for! SO easy to use too! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteYou have got to be the most organized person I know! Sooo envious! lol
ReplyDeleteI am having issues though downloading your free printables. It goes straight to PSE ( photoshop Elements) which I never use anyways.. but then it asks for a password. It's doing this on all the printables. Anyone else having issues with this? It will download.. but once it goes to PSE it requires a password. Thank you for such amazing work!! I hope to be as organized as you someday by followiung your guidelines! :)

Hi! Not sure what's going on. I do have a password on all of my printables to prevent copying. Two ideas come to mind. Have you tried downloading from Box and then right click > open with > Adobe Reader? That should work, if not Box allows you to print directly from them. Hope this helps :)
Deletefollowing you now on pinterest btw.. I'm addicted! hehe
ReplyDeleteV
Thank you for following! I'm a total Pinterest addict :)
DeleteThank you so much for these printables!! They will be put to good use. I'm going to start following you on pinterest!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for following!
DeleteI love, love, love your Grocery Shopping List. I printed out two so i would have enough for this week and next.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your hard work.

Great emergency lists. I'll use them in our home and for our Scout meetings to prepare for the "Shakeout" earthquake preparation event on 10/18. www.shakeout.org/
ReplyDeleteAs an added layer of protection, you can use a converter like OneNote, SnagIt or PDFCreator to save these as jpgs and keep them on your smartphone or just print them and keep them in your glovebox! We keep an extra copy of important papers and our backup hard drive at my Mom's apt. a 1/2 mile away.
Happy Prepping!
Jay
Hi Jay! Thanks for the good advice; I really need to beef up my earthquake preparedness.
DeleteThese are fantastic! And cute, too! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThese are great. My family is wholly unprepared for an emergency. If there were a zombie apocalypse I'd have to break into the neighbor's house for supplies.
ReplyDeleteI'm not that prepared either; hopefully my neighbors aren't zombies :)
DeleteFor some reason I can't get it to open. It shows that it's downloading, but then it never finishes. :(
ReplyDeleteIs there a way it could be sent another way? von_donna@iquest.net
Sorry you’re having issues downloading the kit. I’ll e-mail it to you and hopefully that will solve the downloading problem.
DeleteLove this! As a Shelf Reliance consultant - these are perfect for our personal inventory! Contacting you about advertising for www.thrivefoodhomestore.blogspot.com
